The Good News of High Gas Prices

Yes, there actually is some good effects of high gas prices.

Wall Street Journal recently reported that the high cost of shipping stuff (cars, parts, toys, etc) is forcing some manufacturers to actually bring production jobs BACK to the U.S. -- or at least freeze their plans of outsourcing more jobs.

Yeah, I know it's hard to think of that when you're putting $100 in the tank, but at least there is one silver lining.

The journal reports that shipping from Asia to US has tripled since 2000, and will double again soon. That's equivalent to a 9% tariff of goods coming into the U.S. Businesses are realizing that it is less expensive to just produce the goods in the U.S.
